Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

When to book & When to go:

  • Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Choose a group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Beachside Delight Suite with Stunning View 7th Flr has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

Tips for a fantastic stay:

  • Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
  • Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to inspire new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
