Getting the best vacation property experience:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- To get the best value, try changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Make a plan and choose the rightrental home:
- First, have your family decide on dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Beautiful & Comfy Oceanfront Suite @ Monterey Bay! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before you book the property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or could be applied to your invoice.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking
More considerations for your visit:
- Put the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect your property!
- Note any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute arises.
- Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
