Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to go & When to book:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To book the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning, picking, and booking your prefect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Choose a group leader, select your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Beautiful & Comfy Oceanfront Suite @ Monterey Bay! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what is optimal for your vacation group.
- Looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs could be applied to your invoice.
Know before you go:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. message the property manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to propel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
