How to get the best vacation home experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Filter your search:
- Select a group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Beautiful Oceanfront 3 bedroom condo in Surfside Beach has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the property owner before reserving the property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
- At Check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a great stay? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
