Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Some property management companies offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Beautiful 3 bedroom condo in the heart of Myrtlewood Villas has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before reserving the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is suitable for your family.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
Considerations for your stay:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
