Tips for getting the perfect vacation home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To book the best vacation home within budget, we recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Start by selecting your vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. BEAUTIFUL BEACH COTTAGE PERFECT YEAR ROUND FOR YOUR BEACH GET AWAY has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property manager before reserving the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or could be applied to your agreement.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
Know before you go:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Document any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if damages are assessed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on great feedback to stimulate more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
