Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips:
Get the best value:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is a good way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning and choosing the best Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Choose dates and spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Beautiful Beach House!!! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the host before booking the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
Advice for your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Upon check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few problems.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
