Tricks and tips to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose the perfect rental in Myrtle Beach:
- First, have your group choose the best dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Charming 3 Bdr 2 Ba house in wonderful Ocean Lakes Campground has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before you reserve the home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation.
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
More tips for your stay:
- We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of concerns.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- To make certain that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas upon your arrival. text the host right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
