Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Money saving strategies:
- To find the most suitable rental home within your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have deals for local tours and attractions.
Make a plan and pick your Myrtle Beach rental:
- Choose your vacation dates and max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Beautiful custom beach house in Ocean Lakes Family \nCampground-site U11 has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking websites. If not, contact the property owner before reserving your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is optimal for your vacation family.
- Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
During your stay:
- Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make certain damages are not linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. message the property manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic source for finding the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would back home.
- At departure, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to propel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
