Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips:
When to go & When to reserve a rental home:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To get the most suitable rental within your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guides have deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Planning, picking, and booking a perfectvacation home:
- First and foremost, have your family decide on vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Beautiful custom beach house in Ocean Lakes Family \nCampground-site U11 has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you reserve the rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is best for your vacation.
- Visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.
More tips for your visit:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Document any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if a dispute arises.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would at home.
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
