Tricks and tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- To get the best value, shift your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Some property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Start by selecting your a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Beautiful custom beach house in Ocean Lakes Family \nCampground-site U11 has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs applied to your invoice.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, record any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the rental manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a excellent time? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
