Strategies to get the optimal Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Getting the best rental value:
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- To find the largest rental home within your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Start by choosing trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Beautiful ocean view condo with full access to all resort amenities!! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available online. If not, email or call the property management company before reserving the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your family.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
Some things to know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of problems.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would at home.
- To make certain that damages aren't linked to your visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Call the property manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
