Our top Myrtle Beach rental home booking tips:
Sticking to your rental home budget:
- The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- To get the largest rental within budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to select the best vacation home:
- To start, have your group choose dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Amazing view 16th floor 2BR @ Myrtle Beach Resort has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available online. If not, contact the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
During your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- During arrival, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peace. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to propel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
