Strategies to get the very best rental experience:

Finding your perfect vacation home:

  • Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental in Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning, picking, and booking the bestrental home:

  • Choose your vacation week and max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Gorgeous Condo with Breathtaking Ocean Views and Comfortable Furnishings! - A has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available online. If they are not listed, email the host before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you crave, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of issues.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
