Our top Myrtle Beach rental booking tips and tricks:
Cost saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To find the best vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing and booking your Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Select vacation week and max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. BEAUTIFULLY RENOVATED DIRECT OCEANFRONT CORNER UNIT IN PELICAN'S LANDING- 3\/2.5 has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before you reserve the home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine which bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges applied to your agreement.
More tips for your stay:
- Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- During arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a fantastic stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
