How to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Sticking to your spending budget:
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To book the best vacation home for your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose the best rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by choosing your vacation dates and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Brand New Reno! OF, End Unit, King bed, Quartz Counters, Shaker Cabinets has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available online. If you don't see them listed, call the host before you reserve your rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine which bed configuration is right for your group.
- Looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
Advice for your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a wonderful stay? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
