How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, try shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting and booking the right Myrtle Beach rental:
- To start, have your family select trip dates and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Calming & Relaxing condo in the center of MB has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the host before you reserve the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
Some things to know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas upon check in. message the rental manager right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to drive future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
