Getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Finding the best value:
- Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have offers and deals for nearby shops and restaurants.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Begin by selecting your vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Calming & Relaxing condo in the center of MB has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the host before you reserve your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you love, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
Tips for a great stay:
- Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- During arrival, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your life at home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to propel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
