Tips and Tricks to get the best rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Book your rental property in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines that include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your Search:
- Choose vacation dates and spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Caravelle 1034 - Myrtle Beach - 1BR\/1BA - Pools has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking pages. If not, contact the host before you book the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or could be applied to your invoice.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
- To make sure that no damages are linked to your stay, make note of any problem areas during check in. Contact the host right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a fantastic time? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
