Strategies to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- To find the best rental home within budget, we suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have coupons for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
How to choose and book the rightvacation home:
- Choose vacation week and max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Harbour Lights, South Carolina, 1 Bedroom Deluxe has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking pages. If not, email or call the property management company before reserving your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
More tips for your visit:
- Add the host's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Record any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to propel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
