Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to go & When to book:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To get the best value, shift your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
- Some property managers offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and choose the perfectrental:
- Select your dates and budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Carolina Grande Resort - 2BR Suite w\/ Balcony has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property management company before you reserve your home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is best for your family.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
Considerations for your stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- At Check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
