Strategies to get the best vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- To find the best value, try shifting your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.
How to select the best rental:
- Begin by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Carolina Grande Resort - 2BR Suite w\/ Balcony has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available online. Otherwise, email or call the host before booking the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what configuration is right for your vacation family.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
Considerations for your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- To make certain that damages are not attributed to your stay, note any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be respectful. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
