Strategies to get the best vacation home experience:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is a good way to save on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Begin by choosing the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Magnificent Magnolias has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available online. Otherwise, email the property management company before reserving the rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you simply love, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges could be applied to your agreement.
More tips for your visit:
- Add the host's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To make certain no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. message the rental manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on good feedback to propel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
