How to book the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. Book your Myrtle Beach rental property in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for local tours and attractions.
How to choose the perfect vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select a group leader, select your dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Oceanview-Pool-Large Balcony-Walk 2 Beach-Gated Community has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before reserving the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or applied to your contract.
During your stay:
- Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas during check in. Make contact with the property manager right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many difficulties.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- At departure, take a walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to drive new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
