Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:

Get the most from your rental home budget:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

How to choose and book the right Myrtle Beach vacation home:

  • Choose vacation dates and max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Dream Living: 15th Flr Oceanfront 3 Bedroom Condo has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before reserving the home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • If your family is bringing pets, search for a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

More tips for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many problems.
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Document any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to compel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
