Strategies for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
How to get the best value:
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, try changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to select the perfect vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose a group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Coastal 6th Floor 3BR Angle Ocean View Condo has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available online. If you don't see them listed, call the host before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your stay, record any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the property manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
