Getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Booking your rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, consider shifting your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose your vacation week and max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. 3 BR Oceanfront, King Suite, Pools, Starbucks, Amazing Views!! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before booking the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is right for your trip.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Additional considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
- Document any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to stimulate future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
