Strategies to get the very best vacation property experience:
Get the best rental value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- To find the best rental for your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Choosing and booking the right Myrtle Beach rental home:
- First, have your group commit to dates and a budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Coastal Escape: 1BR King Suite @ Wyndham Seawatch has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the host before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you long to visit, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
Know before you go:
- Add the host's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- To make certain no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the rental manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a great stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
