Rental home booking tips:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a rental home:
- The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- To get the best value, shift your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Some hosts offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain coupons for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Make a plan and pick your Myrtle Beach rental:
- Select dates and max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. B342 at the Myrtle Beach Resort: Coastal Escape with Ocean Views has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before you reserve the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
More considerations:
- Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few issues.
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, make note of any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the rental manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
