Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

Finding the best rental home value:

  • Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select a group leader, choose your dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Place At The Beach V #B113 - Ocean View! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available online. If not, call the property owner before you reserve the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what configuration is right for your family.
  • Visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • During arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a fantastic time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
