Strategies for getting the perfect vacation home experience:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the largest vacation home for your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose the best vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select your vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Coastal Getaway 11th Floor 3BR Angle OV Condo has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your vacation group.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- If your family is bringing pets, search for a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.
Tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- During arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of issues.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
