How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- To find the best value, try changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, , and reduced traffic.
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked very early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Begin by selecting your the best vacation week and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Oceanfront penthouse onsite restaurant bar pools lazy river has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you reserve your home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs could be applied to your contract.
Considerations for your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
- Record any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property one final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
