Tricks and tips to get the very best rental experience:
Find your perfect rental:
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, shift your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have coupons for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and choose a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. DIRECT OCEANFRONT - Central Air and Enlarged Bath has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available online. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you book the property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
Additional considerations:
- Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To make certain that no damages are attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. text the rental manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
