Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Sticking to your rental budget:
- Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Booking your vacation home in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides have discounts for local tours, shops, and attractions.
How to select the perfect rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose vacation week and max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Direct Oceanfront 3 bedroom Condo - Compass Cove Mariner Tower 1415 has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before booking the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your group.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you crave, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
During your stay:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Record any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
