Our top Rental home tips:
How to get the best value:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the largest rental within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Planning, picking, and booking yourvacation home:
- To start, have your group agree to a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Beach Retreat: 9th Flr 3 Bedroom Oceanfront Condo has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the host before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is best for your trip.
- Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you love, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
Tips for your stay:
- Add the host's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of issues.
- Lock your rental while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas during check in. text the host immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to stimulate future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
