Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Finding your best deal:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To find the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Finding the best rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose a group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Enchanting 1Br Oceanview Suite, Dogs Ok has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking pages. If not, email or call the property management company before you book the property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs could be applied to your contract.
- Does your family require specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
Considerations for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- At Check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
