Getting the best rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best rental within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have coupons for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Family Tree- when you need that special space for the whole Family ! has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually available online. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before you book the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what configuration is right for your vacation family.
- Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Upon arrival, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to inspire future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
