Our top Vacation rental booking tips:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a rental home:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, try changing your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to select the perfect rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose your vacation dates and max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. 4br Presidential Condo Luxury Family Fun on Beach! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property manager before you book the property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to determine which bed configuration is right for your vacation family.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you love, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
During your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the host right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
