Our top Myrtle Beach rental home tips:
How to get the best rental value:
- To get the best value, consider shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Choosing the perfect vacation home:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and choose a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Fantastic location!! Short walk to BEACH, Pools, and WATER PARK! has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what is right for your vacation family.
- Visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs could be applied to your contract.
More considerations:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Upon check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- At departure, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
