Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Getting the best rental home value:
- To get the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the perfect vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- First, have your family choose the best dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Gorgeous Condo at Magnolia North MB+pool has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property manager before you reserve your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is right for your vacation group.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is bringing pets, search for a property that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.
Know before you go:
- Add the host's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Upon arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of issues.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good feedback to stimulate new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
