Getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, try changing your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.
How to choose and book the best Myrtle Beach rental:
- Select a group lead, select your dates, and select a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Gorgeous Condo at Magnolia North MB+pool has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking websites. If not, call the property management company before you book the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Tips for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a wonderful stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
