Strategies to get the best vacation rental experience:
Getting the best rental home value:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your vacation home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose the best vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Begin by selecting vacation dates and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. First floor unit in the heart of Myrtle Beach. has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property manager before you reserve the property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or applied to your invoice.
Tips to have a fantastic stay:
- Add the host's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make certain no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. Call the rental manager right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to drive new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
