Finding the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to go & When to book:
- The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Book your rental in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Choose your dates and maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. First floor unit in the heart of Myrtle Beach. has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available online. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you reserve the property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what is suitable for your vacation.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges may be applied to your contract.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Have a great stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many difficulties.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your stay, note any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the property manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
