Strategies for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best rental within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain deals for nearby tours and attractions.

- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. OCEANSIDE view - Upscale Luxury 2 BR Condo - Marriott's Ocean Watch Resort has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible online. If not, reach out to the host before reserving the rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make sure that no damages are attributed to your stay, record any problem areas upon check in. message the property manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a great stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
