Tricks and tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental property in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning and choosing the rightrental:
- Choose your dates and max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. ??New floor \/kitchen\/ stove, Gorgeous Condo, Ocean Front Master Bed, 2Balconies has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before booking the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
More considerations:
- Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the host immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to compel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
