Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Choosing the best vacation rental:
- Select vacation week and budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. #H Beautiful condo minutes from the beach has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available online. If not, reach out to the host before you book your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine which bed configuration is right for your vacation.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Note any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to stimulate new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
