How to get the best rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the largest rental within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities.
- The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for nearby shops and restaurants.
Planning and choosing your prefectrental:
- Select a group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. ~Gorgeous~ Ocean View King Suite in Cabana Row~ has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available online. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before you reserve your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what is right for your trip.
- Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or costs might be applied to your agreement.
Considerations for your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Record any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if damages are assessed.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great feedback to stimulate more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
