Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, change your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Some property managers offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have coupons for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
How to select the best rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select a group lead, select your dates, and choose a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Gorgeous Ocean View King Suite w\/ Balcony + On-Site Pool has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before you book your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Note any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
