Tips and Tricks to get the optimal vacation rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, consider shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to pick the best vacation home:

  • Begin by choosing your a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Grand Atlantic Oceanfront 3bed 3bath condo! Amazing views indoor & outdoor pools has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available online. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before you book the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what configuration is optimal for your vacation.
  • Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • Make a record of any issues with the property at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to propel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
