How to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:

Get the most from your rental home budget:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To get the best value, change your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, , and greatly reduced traffic.
  • The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • First, have your family agree to a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Have a large family? Here's your condo! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the property owner before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you crave, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

Advice for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the property manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of issues.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
  • Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to compel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
