Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To find the best value, change your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting and booking the rightrental:
- First and foremost, have your group select a vacation week and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Hidden Haven by WT Golf has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking pages. If not, contact the property management company before you book the home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
- Does your family require specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or might be applied to your contract.
More considerations for your visit:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your stay, make a record of any problem areas during check in. message the property manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of issues.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
