Tips and Tricks for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have money saving offers on nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- First and foremost, have your family select the best dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Hidden Haven by WT Golf has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before you reserve the home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you simply love, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.
More considerations:
- Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas during check in. text the property manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your life at home. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a fantastic stay? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
