Tricks and tips to get the best vacation rental experience:
When to go & When to book:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To find the largest rental for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to pick the best vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- To start, have your family commit to the best dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. OCEAN LAKES. A Lil' Anchored. Adorable 3bdr, 2ba. Complementary Limo Golf Cart has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your trip.
- Visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your stay, note any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the host right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
