Tips to get the best vacation property experience:
Get the most from your spending budget:
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Choose your vacation week and maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Breathtaking Oceanfront Condo Views w Pool
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before booking the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what is suitable for your vacation group.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
More considerations:
- Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure damages are not attributed to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many concerns.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a fantastic stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
