Our top Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips and tricks:
Cost saving strategies:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. Reserve your rental in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Some owners offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting the best vacation rental:
- First and foremost, have your group agree to the best dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Winter Rates! Impressive 1Br Oceanfront\/Dogs OK! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is usually available online. If not, email or call the property owner before you reserve the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what is right for your vacation.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Additional considerations:
- Add the host's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To make certain damages are not linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the rental manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of problems.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to inspire future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
