How to book the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, try shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Make a plan and pick the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Select a group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Relax in this cozy townhouse, 2block to the beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If not, call the property owner before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs applied to your agreement.
Some things to know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
- To make certain no damages are attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
