Tips and Tricks to get the best rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. To find the largest rental home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have money saving offers on nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- To make sure damages are not linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the host right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a excellent time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
