Rental home tips and tricks:
Sticking to a budget:
- To find the largest rental home for your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have money saving offers on nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to choose and book the best Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Choose your dates and spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Make Memories @ Ravishing Angled Oceanfront Suite has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before reserving the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Document any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a wonderful stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
