Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, shift your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain offers and deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Make Memories @ Ravishing Angled Oceanfront Suite has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking pages. If not, email the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make sure that no damages are attributed to your visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the rental manager right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a great stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
